Research consortia:

GLISTEN: GPCR-Ligand Interactions, Structures, and Transmembrane Signalling: a European Research Network
This COST network brings together scientists specializing in various complementary methods to unravel details of the activation mechanism, ligand binding, and the effect of the membrane on properties of GPCRs. The work groups within the network focus their attention on particular aspects of GPCRs:

  • WG1 – Dynamics
  • WG2 – Biased Signalling
  • WG3 – GPCR Lipid/Protein Interactions
  • WG4 – Discovery & Design of GPCR Ligands

DFG Research Unit 2149: Elucidation of Adhesion-GPCR signaling
This scientific network, established by the German Research Foundation at the universities of Würzburg (Kittel, Langenhan), Leipzig (Aust, Liebscher, Prömel, Schöneberg, Sträter), Mainz (Wolfrum), Erlangen-Nuremberg (Engel), and Amsterdam (Hamann) for the period 2015-2017, will seek answers to the questions: “What do Adhesion GPCRs recognize? How do they translate stimuli into a cellular response? And what happens when they are missing?” The speaker and coordinator of the initiative is Tobias Langenhan.
